About Bloom Play Therapy
Bloom Play Therapy’s Approach
In play sessions, children are supported to learn to express their emotions in healthy ways
Children are encouraged to be their authentic playful selves in the play sessions
During play sessions, the child is given freedom to choose to play with toys and materials in ways they want to, allowing them to be creative, express themselves, be themselves and stimulate their senses (through seeing, hearing, touching, smelling and moving their body)
The child is guided to explore, express themselves and expand their skills as they evolve through the play therapy sessions, and through this exploring, they are discovering who they are
Bloom Play Therapy focusses on bringing the best out of a child through supporting the child to bring out their unique inner and joyful potential through playing
Bloom Play Therapy aims to support and guide parents to develop self-awareness and strategies to support them to connect with their child when their child is experiencing challenging emotions (such as when they feel anxious, frustrated or overwhelmed)
The child is supported to develop coping skills, such as calming and sensory strategies to assist them to manage their emotions
Play sessions with Bloom Play Therapy provide a safe, familiar, predictable, comfortable space for children where the therapist reflects qualities of acceptance, respect, understanding, support and encouragement to allow children to express themselves, be themselves, explore, discover and learn about themselves
